Russia has generally maintained near-constant production of a huge range of mineral resources over the last two years. This reflects significant control exerted over the mining industry.
Value-Added Products
While Russia’s smelting of aluminum decreased from 3,720,000 tons in 2013 to 3,500,000 tons in 2014, year-end capacity rose 140,000 tons to 4,180,000 tons in the same time period. Semi-finished products made from carbon steel and flat-rolled iron and steel contribute the majority of Russia’s non-fuel mineral export value.

Market Summary
Russia is currently experiencing some economic stabilization after the sanctions imposed upon it over the civil war in Ukraine.
