Mine Production Information
Mining industries in Myanmar are mainly government-owned. Joint Ventures began in earnest after the relaxation of political sanctions in 2012. Tin production has held steady over the last two years at 11,000 tons. Production of manganese rose from 157,000 tons in 2013 to 200,000 tons in 2014.
Myanmar has vowed to clean up its mining industry, especially the mining of rubies.
